Wood Console Table

When redecorating my home I leaned a thing or two about the many console tables on the market when looking for a quality table to site in my hallway. This series will take a look at the very best designs that I found along the way after hours of exhaustive research.

After all I wanted only the best console table for my hall when I was spending so much money on all the other components which make up my home interior. Being the first thing that guest see when they enter your home you will want to ensure you get something that leaves a positive first impression.

Hopefully my efforts to discover the finest furniture available wasn't wasted and will allow you to save time in your own efforts.

• A small favorite with the ladies is the Tuscan Cream console table in a half moon design that features hand-painted floral details within a classic creamy colored Tuscan finish. It has only one drawer, but that is enough for a few items of makeup or a set of keys or for keeping the newest mail. The console table drawer has one wooden knobbed drawer and one shelf that is open, which can display trinkets or jewelry should it be in a bedroom. To finish the vanity or hall or entrance look you can add a matching creamy colored Tuscan style mirror. It is not a very tall console table but adequate at 30 inches high. It’s not a cheap console table at about $270, but it is very stylish.

Cherry Console Table

• Another wood console table option is the sofa console table in Plantation Cherry that works well in classic home themes that use cherry wood furniture. It is great for a hallway or entrance. It is very sturdy and elegant made of solid woods and veneers in cherry, olive, ash burl and gold-tip accents. It is practical for an entrance to eliminate junk on the table top because it has two functional drawers decorated with antique brass hardware. There is also an open shelf for displaying little decorative items. The legs are especially lovely on this classic console table, all four of them have intricate detailing. It’s a tall 32 inches high and costs $460.

• One company that makes ultra modern furniture is Zuo Modern, creators and manufacturers of some unique barstools and other contemporary furniture including a line of console tables. One very popular table is the Aspect console table, which features clean lines with two frosted, tempered glass shelves with chrome accents and wood veneer legs. It’s a tall console table at 35 inches in height. It costs about $300.

Chinese Wood Console Table

I have also selected a few rare and unusual console tables made by artisans and artists in Asia. Your décor or design theme need not be Chinese or Tibetan or Asian to incorporate one unique piece of oriental furniture such as a hand made wood console table.

• One truly exquisite piece of furniture is the Treasured Sage Chinese console table that is made of Chinese hardwood. Since each console table in this line is an authentically restored vintage console table, there are no two tables exactly alike. Although each table may not be the exact same size, the standard Chinese console table dimensions are about 62-73 inches wide and 33-35 inches in height. Not a cheap console table option, but very unusual for about $850.
