Mens Titanium Rings

By

In my last hub entitled Mens Titanium Wedding Rings I looked at the possibility of choosing titanium as a material form which to make his and hers wedding rings. This hub will attempt to answer these questions to allow you to pick the best ring set possible. Of course you will need to do your own research because wedding rings are a very personal choice and because you are dealing with the tastes of TWO people not just one. But here are some very brief answers to the above questions just to give you a little head start:

  1. Choosing titanium wedding rings will not limit your options to dark or industrial-looking ring styles unless that is what you are after. There are many new styles of men’s titanium rings that are polished like platinum, brushed or etched like the white gold designer rings in magazines and even some titanium rings that incorporate silver, white gold, yellow gold and any precious gem you had in mind.

  2. A titanium wedding band for him and a sparkling titanium ring for you is possible. There are His and Hers styles in simple bands for a man who wants something practical and cubic zirconia or crystal and/or diamond versions for the bride. If you don’t buy them as a set just make sure the polish or outer treatment of the rings is the same and that the thickness or band width is similar. Ladies rings tend to be thinner and less wide than men’s rings, so don’t fret too much.

  3. Yes! There are diamond or cubic zirconia rings for ladies in titanium that will match the men’s titanium ring you choose.

  4. Your engagement ring and your two wedding bands will match if you choose to go with titanium wedding ring sets that are sold together and match perfectly.

  5. Since your budget is limited and platinum and white gold are very expensive, you can cut costs a little by choosing titanium wedding rings. Low grade rings are under $100, but I suggest a midrange price because the quality will be obvious. Budget about $300 and you have something affordable of good quality.

  6. You can give him a titanium ring and have a little sparkle for yourself and still save money if you choose a simple titanium band for your honey and the similar band for yourself with a few high quality cubic zirconia sparklers. You can still keep the budget down to less than $100 for each. Just remember that you get what you pay for. There are many grades of titanium wedding rings and even more grades of cubic zirconia rings.

  7. If you want the very best quality wedding rings and the most attractive settings and your budget is not restrictive, then platinum is the best metal in my opinion. That being said there are a lot of advantages to titanium due to it’s durability and it may be the top pick, even over platinum, if your husband uses his hands a lot and will wear his rings every day. You may want to find an exclusive designer who will custom make you a platinum/titanium blend with overlays or insets, which will also give a unique two-tone effect. There are also some exclusive men’s wedding rings that incorporate a little gold to look like rivets or nails, or just as an accent.

  8. Titanium rings can be cut off in an emergency and from what I have researched; paramedics and hospitals have a special saw for such harder metal rings. This may depend on where you live however, and it also will depend on how big a problem this ring issue is your area. From what I understand, the problem is not so much about the strength of the ring as it as question of wearing a ring of any kind in a dangerous work environment where a ring could be caught or cause an accident. One report I read said that a titanium wedding ring saved a man’s finger because it did not collapse when his finger was nearly crushed. You will have to decide, but the best advice is to not wear a ring for certain kinds of work.

  9. Resizing mens titanium rings is difficult if the size difference between what you have and what you need is great. They can be resized by using a rod, and if that fails, a titanium wire is added inside, and if that fails it must be rebuilt. I recommend buying the exact ring size you need.

  10. If you know very little about men’s jewelry and your my husband-to-be is flamboyant and artistic and very picky about his rings and knows what he likes, don’t bang your head against a wall. Ask him to choose his own ring. There are custom designers and small jewelers who will make extremely unique titanium mens rings that will delight even the most distinguished ring collector.
